API Import Configuration: Multistage Competition (like international cup)

1 > Create a new Multistage Main Competition

Go to the Competitions and click "Add New"

Set league (1) and season (2).

Set Competition type to "knockout" and hide bracket layout (4)

Multistage should be "Multistage Main" (5) with stage order = 1 (6)

Set stage title - "Qualifying rounds" (7).

Change the name of the first round to "Preliminary round" (8)

Click on the button "Add New Round" 3 times and change the names of the round to "First qualifying round" (9), "Second qualifying round" (10), "Third qualifying round" (11) 

Publish your first stage.

2 > Create 2nd stage - Play-off round

Click on "Add New Competition" at the top.

Change competition type to "Knockout" (1) and hide bracket layout (2)

Select "Multistage Secondary" (3) and choose the proper Main Stage ID (4) (created in the previous step) 

Change Stage order to 2 (5) and change Stage title to "Play-off round" (6).

Remove the name of the round (7) and publish stage.

3 > Group Stage

Click on "Add New Competition" and set

Multistage >> "Multistage Secondary" (1)

Main Stage ID >> Choose the proper Main Stage ID (2) (created in the first step)

Stage Order >> 3 (3)

Stage Title >> "Group stage" (4)

4 > Knockout phase

Click on "Add New Competition" and set

Competition Type >> "Knockout" (1)

Bracket Layout >> "manual" or "automatic" (2). Automatic is most suitable for finished competitions. More info - https://anwp.pro/tournament-bracket-football-leagues-wordpress-plugin/

Multistage >> "Multistage Secondary" (3)

Main Stage ID >> Choose the proper Main Stage ID (4) (created in the first step)

Stage Order >> 4 (5)

Stage Title >> "Knockout Phase" (6)

Change the name of the first round to "Round of 16" (7)

Click on the button "Add New Round" 3 times and change the names of the round to "Quarter-finals" (8), "Semi-finals" (9), "Final" (11)

Click on publish to Save

5 > Check structure

Go to the "Competitions" and check if your structure is correct. See screenshot.

6 > Create manual API Import Configuration

Go to the "FL API Import" (1) >> "API Leagues" (2) and click on "Database" icon (3)

Select to create "Manual Configuration" (1)

Choose your competition in the select box.

Set API rounds to the appropriate competition stages.

Click on "Update Competition Structure"

Then, you can create games and update players

6 > Standing Tables

Go to the Standing Table and click "Add New Standing Table"

Or you can clone it from the old season

Create Standing table for every group.
